Spring auditions have concluded, please join us in welcoming Alice Fadiora (HC ‘10) and Anceline Eustache (BMC ‘12) to Counterpoint!

In other news:

• We finished recording our renditions of  ”Fallin” and “Fever/Wade in the Water/Summertime” last semester with Alfred Goodrich of Silvertone Studios; he’s basically made of awesome and we highly recommend recording with him. We thank Haverford’s Student’s Council for providing us with the funding to do so. Unfortunately, we have no silly photos documenting our sonic adventures but to be sure, a lot of chocolate and mango slices were consumed.
• As for Sweet, Sugar, Counterpoint, 164 copies have been distributed to the Bi-Co and beyond, hooray!
• Counterpoint has been invited to sing with other a cappella groups at a Gospel Extravangza with Chestnut Hill College on February 26th, 2010 in Philadelphia; so, if you are nearby, you should come out to see everyone!

Sweet Sugar Counterpoint (2009)

We are glad to finally bring you Sweet, Sugar, Counterpoint, Counterpoint’s very first recording! It has been a two year process: from creating the group in Fall 2007, to producing the arrangements, learning the music, and, finally, getting to the recording studio with Haverford’s own Black Squirrel Records, we have learned a lot about what it takes to produce a CD and about our identity as an a cappella group.

The first three tracks were recorded with Haverford’s Black Squirrel Records in the D.C. basement; the live tracks were recorded at Counterpoint’s May 2009 concert in the Lusty Cup. Physical copies of the CD will be offered (also for free! hooray) at Haverford’s activities fair and Bryn Mawr’s Fall Frolic.  If you have any questions about the download or the physical copy, please email one of our officers at left.

While we were able to record with Black Squirrel Records for no cost, we did assemble each and every physical CD from scratch ourselves. We’d like to make more physical copies to give to all of you! but we’ve run out of funding.

(Note: due to student government rules about personal club accounts, all donations to Counterpoint will be first processed through a personal account owned by one of the Counterpoint members.
