Hello Friends, Fans, Family, and Future Ladies of Counterpoint!

The 2012-2013 academic year is about to get underway, and you know what that means….A CAPPELLA STARTS BACK UP AGAIN! Don’t worry….we’ve missed you, too!

You’ll get your first chance to hear us at Haverford’s Welcome Back Concert on Monday 9/3 @ 8:00pm in Marshall Auditorium along with all of the other Haverford a cappella groups.

Can’t make it to the Haverford concert? Not to worry.  We’ll also be singing at Bryn Mawr’s Welcome Back Concert on Thursday 9/6 @ 8:00pm in the Campus Center.  If you stick around, you’ll get to hear the other groups on Bryn Mawr’s campus as well!

On to some more exciting news about AUDITIONS!!!
We will be tabling at Haverford’s Activities Fair on Wednesday 9/5, so if you’re a Haverford student, stop on by our table to sign up for an audition time, chat, and even possibly buy a CD ($5).

Haverford’s auditions are going to take place:
Thursday 9/6 from 4:00-6:00pm in Stokes 010
Friday 9/7 from 4:00-7:00pm in Stokes 016

If you are a Bryn Mawr student, you can find us after the BMC Welcome Back Concert to sign up for an audition time.  We’ll also have CD’s for sale, if you want to buy one!

We can’t wait to get this year started, and we cannot wait to welcome some new members into the Counterpoint family!

We know it has been a while since our last post, however Counterpoint has been very busy having an amazing end to a fantastic semester!

We had a jam-packed mid-semester concert in Rock Common Room at Bryn Mawr (thank you to everyone who came out to hear us sing!) and we had a blast introducing our newest members and debuting a few new songs.

We also were delighted to sing at Haverford’s Relay for Life event to help raise cancer awareness.

We had so much fun singing for Bryn Mawr’s accepted students weekend (we hope you all come out to audition!) (if you are a prospective student that wants more info on auditions, check out our webpage: www.counterpointac.org)

After a smashing May Day performance at Bryn Mawr, we ended our semester with our final concert at Haverford’s Founder’s Auditorium, and our final goodbye to our senior this year, Anceline Eustache (BMC ’12).

Oh……..last but not least……….WE FINISHED OUR CD!!! It has been three years in the making, and it is some of our best work yet! We are so proud of it! If you would like a copy of our CD, entitled “And Everything In Between,” please email Kat (kcunningha@brynmawr.edu) or drop by our booth at Bryn Mawr or Haverford’s respective Fall Frolics to pick one up for free! (that’s right, you heard us, FREE).

We’d like to thank everyone for their love and support of Counterpoint this year.  You mean the world to us!
And to Anceline, our very special senior, we wish you all the best in your endeavors! You will be missed! Keep singing!

Hello Everyone!

We had a really successful audition process this semester, and we are SUPER EXCITED to introduce two more babies to the Counterpoint family!
Each of them is amazing, and we’re so glad that they decided to join!

Counterpoint has been hard at work this semester cranking out new pieces for our mid-semester concert!  We hope all of you can make it out to come hear us sing, and to come meet our newbies!

Our concert is going to be:

Friday, March 16th @ 8:30pm
Rock Common Room at Bryn Mawr.

The theme is “Call Your Girlfriend”….interpret that as you will! 😉

Guess what? IT IS AUDITION TIME AGAIN!

Counterpoint will be holding auditions the first weekend back from Winter Break.
Audition Dates/Times/Locations are as follows:

Friday, January 20th @ HAVERFORD (location TBA)
6:30-9:30pm

Saturday, January 21st @ BRYN MAWR (Goodheart Classroom A)
6:30-9:30pm

Ladies from all classes–NOT JUST FRESHMEN– from Bryn Mawr and Haverford can attend. All you need to audition is to come with a verse and a chorus of a song prepared that you feel best shows of your vocal talent! Sign-up sheets for audition spots will be posted in each campus’ respective campus center and dining hall(s).  However, if you decide last minute that you want to audition, we love our walk-in auditionees just as much!

Furthermore, we will be singing on Thursday, January 19th @8:30pm (Bryn Mawr Campus Center) in the Welcome Back Concert hosted by the Bryn Mawr Night Owls! There will be a lot of other groups there (though, if I may add, none as cool as us), we hope you will come to cheer us on and hopefully talk with us afterwards so we can answer any questions you may have about the group, the audition process, or anything about the bi-co a cappella scene!
